I just received notice from the Scott Trade Center that some suites have become available for Nationals in March. I wanted to put out one last call to see if anybody has an opening in a suite. Failing that, a Penthouse suite (12 people) goes for $9k. Would anybody want to go in on one?

As opposed to which level? My understanding is the Penthouse suites are pretty high up -- too high?
Yes you cant see sh from the top[ suites, lower is ok I got an email from Scottrade a couple mos ago but we are opting to go with lower bowl seats.

Thanks. So....do you have any empty spots in your suite?

I would definitely be in on a suite if I could afford it lol. Definitely will in the coming years though, almost graduated. Fortunately I think I will still be able to attend, as a close friend of mine's cousin is working as a journalist that covers the badger wrestling program, so she has discount ticket prices for every event the badgers are at, and gets a media parking pass for all events, as well as a hotel room paid for at any event she travels to. So my buddy and I are planning on traveling with her to St louis and staying in the hotel room, just need to get tickets.

Hope to see you gents there!

Anybody know where some tickets can be found that are at least close to face value?

I always get my tickets when I get there Thursday Morning. There are always plenty of tickets available. Usually get them fairly cheap

Too bad about the views from the penthouse. 2 of us are definitely players if anyone has openings in a suite as well.

However, the penthouse is IDEAL for us if the corresponding magazine supplies entertainment.

Is this true? I hear this constantly, are we talking scalpers or what?

I don't think so because ticket prices are usually face value or less. Mostly folks with extra tickets.
Every year there are hundreds of tickets available outside Thursday morning. Many large groups(i.e. Schools) have many tickets not being used. Frequently they are good seats from the host school. There are many college age kids with 10-30 all session tickets trying to get rid of them. My group has almost always ended up with 1-3 tickets extra and usually we have trouble getting rid of them even at face value or below. We end up putting our coats in the seats. Our tickets are for prime seats in lower bowl.

Schools not using tickets send them back to the site.

Uh, if you have prime seats in the lower bowl, I imagine @danish_hawkeye and I will gladly take them off your hands.

If you have 2 extra...I would happily pay face value for them for the entire weekend

I've been to 10 NCAAs, sometimes with friends or some of my wrestlers, but sometimes by myself. I don't mind being solo while watching the tourney but if there's someone who is also going to be solo, let's talk and maybe we can at least get tickets together to have someone to share the excitement with, and grab some meals. By the way, I buy tickets on Thursday morning and have always gotten excellent seats on lower level.

Lax I've always appreciated your posts and excellent knowledge of college and Hawk wrestling, so was thinking of asking if you want to meet up, but you mentioned a buddy is going with you but we could still meet up for dinner if you're interested. WWDM, AZChief - you going?

Thanks, I appreciate it. I would definitely be down to meet up with you and any other HR posters who are interested in meeting up for drinks or dinner or whatever. This will be my first ever NCAA's and I'm quite excited, I still hold out a lot of hope & remain optimistic that the boys can pull it off.

I'm excited for you Lax, it will be the greatest wrestling event you'll ever see! For me, seeing Olympic wrestling in person was boring compared to NCAAs (though it was a thrill to see Karelin wrestle!).

Appears that we can't do PM on this site so I'll just give out my email address, for you Lax and anyone else who wants to either sit together at the tourney or meet up for lunch/dinner (also love blues music, so maybe can find a blues bar to hang out). peking1059@hotmail.com

Been to every NCAAs since Des Moines. We typically do not get tickets until a week before. This year, we have a much larger group going than years past so if anyone has any extra tickets available, would love to take them off your hands.

I got mine gwiz parents last year sat with them had a great time you won't have to mess with scalpers, I met them on line in a wrestling forum.

Gents: I have never been to the NCAAs, primarily because I would be going it alone and didn't want to go that option. That being said, I booked my hotel room today (the Renaissance on I-70 west of town), and would definitely be interested in getting tickets and hooking up with others who may be with a small group or going it alone. Again, I've never been so have no clue how to best go about getting tickets (aside from advice above). If anyone is interested please shoot me a note on my gmail account, NashvilleHawkeye@gmail.com. Thank you.

I have penthouse suite available. All Iowa Hawkeye suite.

24 tickets available.

$600 for all sessions.

If they don't sell by a certain date they send them back they don't hold them hoping to sell.[/QUOT
Not true. I have bought tickets that way many times. Yes they send them back, but frequently they have tickets that go unused. They are saved for donors etc that end up not using them.

I will be there this year again after missing the 2015 and 2016 tournaments (still watched them just couldn't attend in person). I was in STL in 2014 with a decent sized group (15-20) of fans who all support different college programs. Some former D1 wrestlers in our group and it's a blast. I'd be all for meeting up with anyone on here to watch and talk wrestling.

On a side note, we usually do a pin pool with the group we have. Everyone throws in a dollar and gets assigned a mat. First person with a pin on their assigned mat wins the pool and we ante up again. Really adds to the excitement and gets people cheering for wrestlers/schools they don't usually follow or cheer for. People sitting around us in our section thought we were all crazy until they realized what we were doing...and then wanted in.
