Stanford Athletics under Investigation

What does Stanford's softball team have to do with the Iowa football team?

Oh, still crying over us getting creamed by them last year. Cool.

"Additionally, two boosters impermissibly provided nearly $3,500 in extra benefits to a football student-athlete, including an impermissible loan, free use of an automobile, meals and other extra benefits. The football student-athlete lived with the boosters through a program created by the school in which student-athletes paid rent for short-term housing. The program was discontinued by the university because of the risk associated with it."

To paraphrase the man, Jerry Tarkanian:

The NCAA is so mad at Stanford that it will probably slap another two years probation on Georgia Southern.

What it means is, and should serve as a warning to others, that when a program decides to embarrass Iowa in a major bowl game after we have a great regular season, you will suffer the consequences, and you will not see them coming........(see USC)
