Hi everyone, and thanks for tolerating my presence on your board, I know the same doesn't hold true for Iowa fans, generally speaking, on the Husker board.

The NDSU loss was not a surprise to most of the country, though the media has latched onto it like a gigantic upset. NDSU Bison are a very good team. I have talked to a number of Bama fans who would not like to face that team. Parity is a real thing and I would, if I had a vote, be asking questions about Gary Barta in regards to this game.

We're entering the conference race and I am interested in your thoughts about where Iowa will finish. I suspect my team, Nebraska, will have losses to OSU and perhaps Wisconsin, during the season. I hope we find a way to win those games but my confidence is not high. I understand that Iowa has many of their toughest games at home.

When Black Friday comes, what do you think the records for each team will be? That game will (I hope) determine the winner of the West. What are the challenges you see for Iowa or Nebraska in the interim? Do you think it will come down to that Friday game? I hope this game determines the West Champ for many years and sparks a great rivalry.

On the Nebraska side we are at the whim of Tommy Armstrong's decision making. It has been our greatest strength and worst weakness for some time. Is there an Iowa equivalent? What are the challenges you see for Iowa to come into this game as a contender for the West championship, if any? What are the games before Black Friday that you consider challenges? How do you think the Hawks will do?

Thanks for being great hosts on your forum and I look forward to chatting with you as the years flow by.

A lot of people here will say I'm being far too optimistic and a homer, but I fully expect Iowa to be 10-1 on Black Friday. I expect Nebraska to be 9-2, with a loss to Ohio State and one more along the way (either @ Wisconsin or vs. Minnesota). That would make the game on Black Friday meaningless. That being said, I would expect a close game that comes down to the wire. Quite frankly, I trust our QB a lot more than I trust yours so I would expect Iowa to pull it out.

I have no idea how good Iowa is this year. I always try to be a glass half full type of person, right now the Hawks still have a lot of proving to do before I believe they can win the West.
