I honestly think isaia Howard is going to be a beast. High flyer. Of course it's highlights. That can make me look good. But his game is old school. Reminds me of a young Dwayne wade.

Koch if he proves he can play defense, definitely has a shot at the 3 to start.

Really hope we don't go small and play 6-8 or 6-9 guys at center. It's just not going to work

I am excited to see who else comes in. My guess is our starting SG and #5 have yet to arrive on campus. If we can get at least two starting caliber transfers, we will be loaded with depth.

The Houston Cougars have no one in their rotation taller than 6-8. How’s that working out for them?

Excited to see Cooper in action. But we really do not know how talented he is against Big Ten Competition. Hope he stays healthy, and his issues are behind him. Had to be a tough year for him.

While I agree with you about Banks Cam does not have the skills to play the 4. Banks is a true 4 who played the 5 because because they had no other alternative and he was so versatile on defense. He played the 2 together a little bit against certain lineups but that really limited the offense. I think Banks has the ability to widen his game, but Ben already had Abreu at the Power Forward and as you mentioned he does not like to play a lot of guys.

I would wager 3 of the 5 start...

Benett, Cooper and Cam. The other 2 will get close to starter minutes. The 2 spots to fill will be a stretch 5 and a long wing who can shoot. Kind of like the 2 we just missed out on to Wisky & Wash.

True but he is one of only a handful of players that Fran ever landed that had multiple offers from good big ten programs.

9 times out of ten if a player had offers from Purdue, Illinois and Wisconsin they weren't coming to Iowa.

In the small sample size I was pleasantly surprised with his athleticism and skill set as well as his willingness to go after rebounds.

I honestly think you don’t value coaching at all. Drake outrebounded at least 80% of their opponents this year. It’s actually called team defense. Yes, the entire team actually rebounds. Go watch the Mizzou game and get back to me.

I get that but it was also the valley which is generally undersized as compared to the power 4.
I think bm will do wonders but he’s not a miracle worker.

The Missouri Valley teams tend to be quite a bit smaller than the Big Ten teams. I certainly value coaching, but believe you have to have some big guys when you’re playing against the big guys. I’ve already expressed my thoughts on the Missouri team.

I don't think Houston plays anyone over 6'8.

Height is nice but not the only thing.

Good stuff.

Effort and positioning can easily offset a couple inches in height. That and everyone rebounding. Size is nice, but not everything.

More size definitely helps.

Yet it's not the only thing, and Houston's success on the boards isn't primary due to size or athleticism
