starting lineup

They have been saying all summer that Jok is prepping to be the 3. That would bump Uhl. I think that Uhl will be spotting Uthoff and Woody some. The positioning will not matter with Fran's motion offense.

So, the 2 spot is open. I say AC starts the season there. But there are 4-5 of the newbies that could play the 2 - Fleming, Ellingson, Moss, and even Jones or Williams. Although I see Jones' minutes more in the front court, and Williams spelling MG & AC at the PG.

I think we start the season off with MG, AC, Jok, JU & Woody for starters. That may evolve some. But our lineup will be able to morph into multiple forms throughout the game. Some will be dependent on the opponent. And some will be us forcing the opponent to play our game.

Like Fran says, who starts does not matter all that much. MG & JU are the only ones I really want on the court most of the time. The rest can be mix & match, and then mix again.

There was an interview Fran did this summer in which he said the 5th starter in 2015 with Woody, JU, Jok, and MG was likely Sapp or Uhl. I think Fran would like to go with the 3-guards IF the shooting gets better as expected and rebounding stays sharp. Moss and Fleming would have chances to make an impact in that type of lineup as the season goes on. All this assuming Jones doesn't make 3pters and rebounding a habit at this level. Like the options and looking forward to seeing it unfold. Especially knowing the cream that rises to the top will be joined by Cook in 2016.

Yep, last spot is between Uhl and Sapp. The one who doesn't start will be the first one off the bench.

My guess is it will be AC even though he and Mike probably won't play that much together even if they both start.

I don't see a freshman starting unless one of them really plays great.

The main concern is really the backup at the 5 spot, the rest of the spots are basically fluid.
