So I am wondering if something I observed is just my perception, or is it a reality....
I go crazy watching the game and thinking that we run to the short side of the field a huge amount of the time.
Defenses tend to stack the box against us and it seems running to the short side would make that even more effective against our offense. So if it's true that we are running to the short side a lot is it intentional? Is there a good philosophy that supports doing that? Is just my observational bias and it's not actually happening?
Looking from input from those that might be able to break this down or explain it. I did wonder if this can be a result of something that sets it up to more often be on either hash because we return punts or kickoffs more often to one side. If that's the case and we then have a favored side to run to it might be compounding into what I think I'm observing.
Go Hawks.
