1) congrats on getting the image to appear in the post. A vast improvement over the Bernie Sanders thread.
2) while this type of stuff irritates me on either side, I do find it ironic that while the GOP is known to be the party of "old white men," aside from Hillary, all the democratic candidates are "old white men."

This.

How are the GOP front runners any different except they have a token black guy?

At the very least the Dems can claim their front runners have actual experience in governing.

Because he has zero experience and cons have already told us they would never elect a man like that. So clearly he's a token for window dressing until Rs figure out which experienced guy they agree on.

Wasn't asking you.....

And because he's from outside the beltway doesn't make him 'token'.

As for experience, I'll take world class brain surgeon over local community organizer if given the choice.

FIFY.

As for experience, I'll take world class loon over a U.S. Senator if given the choice.

Outside the beltway wasn't the reason. It's that Rs have already determind he isn't qualified.

How is he a 'token black guy'?

Please explain.

Look at all the Republican's running and they are all old white people except for a token black guy.

It's pretty ridiculous to brag about the diversity of the people you have running (as opposed to the other party) when essentially 1 guy who's running is the standard by which you base your diversity on.

Take Ben Carson out of the (much larger) GOP field and it's all just old white people. So he's the token black guy.

I'm not sure of the theory you speak of here. Enlighten us please.
Most invaders adopt Socialism or Communism, so that they can allocate most of their funding/taxing into the military, rather than letting the public take hold of it. Socialism/Communism keeps the control of the finances firmly in the grasp of the officials. It gives out just enough to keep the public comfortable.
We are actually much more socialized than people would like to believe. The proof is in the amount of money we send to our military budget. Do you agree that if the US public had more of a choice in this matter, that they would choose to continue sending most of their tax money towards military endeavors? I'd like to think they would not. The fact that Capitalism still exists, is about the only thing that has kept us from becoming the Soviet Union.

Thank the good Lord old for capitalism.

Capitalism can admittedly help in this process as well. Capitalism though is the last defense against Socialism. Similar to how Unions are the last defense against Corporatism. We need the balance in both cases, do you disagree?

I don't think you will get much people disagreeing that there needs to be a good blend of socialism and capitalism. The percentages of each in the blend is where we will disagree.

The arguments against both are simply from the fear of there being too much of either one.

I think you confuse fascism with socialism. The American public keeps voting for fascists. They could pick socialism if folks understood the difference and had the courage to vote for their own self interests. I agree we enjoy a fair bit of socialism now, which is how we know there is nothing to fear from tilting the mix of our system more in that direction. Socialism is the essential grease that keeps capitalism moving. Capitalism can't long survive without socialism to keep it lubricated. On its own capitalism is too inherently self destructive.

Many would say that socialism simply isn't progressive enough to keep itself running.

Just in case this wasn't parody, can you give us some examples that illustrate your thesis?
