Stroker leaving Minnesota per Tweet

No, I don't think he would beat Tshirt; I was thinking Stroker was at 49. My bad

My question is I know he is not supposed to transfer within conference without losing a year. But if he gets a full release from Minnesota does that allow him to transfer without repercussions?

Yes. However, has to be enrolled at new school at the beginning of a semester so he will not be able to wrestle this season. He did get a full release.

The big one...Murphy is tough. Kem just needs to keep up the pressure and test his tank

No. We're talking about a Big Ten-specific rule here, not an NCAA rule. The Big Ten rule does not exempt full releases from this requirement.

Stroker is still just a youngster! There have been alot of changes up north which may have changed how he fits into the new team chemistry. I know it was an in house coaching change but everyone leads in their own way! There is never anything that is for everyone in this world!

Ok. But this kid has his own issues that need to get cleaned up.

For many kids that have never faced adversity...real adversity, it is easier to cut and run.
Example A and B up north!

There were plenty of threads like this on The Predicament. There was always a crapload of drama. Always plenty of people saying "the kid is great" but the baggage is his dad. At least I have not seen many appearances on here from Papa Stroker like in The Predicament or HS years. Now if MCRibs dad could also shut up. Then again this would not be as much fun without idiot parents. These forums can be read by parents, but not a good place for parental participation.

I'm just spitballing here...........but.......

Not sure what "real adversity" is. Guess MitchL can explain it to us soon.

I'm guessing most here have never gone thru the adversity that high level athletes must go thru to get to the D1 level and to stay there. And the adversity they go thru everyday in the training and school.

We don't know what their individual situations were at MInn. and what caused them to decide to leave. Whatever caused these two young men to choose to leave and take another path surely couldn't have been an easy decision.

And to claim that "it is easier to cut and run" seems more like an unfounded impression without any basis in facts than a well reasoned observation of the situation with access to any pertinent details.

In plain language it seems more like a cheap shot than anything else.

Was that coach speak for Stroker and Early being dismissed from the team?

Sounded like it to me too.

But since PapaBear didn't tell us about it 2 1/2 months ago I don't rightly know what to think.

Looks more like Eggs wants to insinuate it was entirely the staff's decision because it puts the program in a better light.

And it's very likely that in order to be granted a full release... the departed wrestlers had to accept a "gag order" of sorts, so as not to contradict the coaches explanation.

See how this works... any Gopher fans reading this thread? Two sides to every story and we likely never hear all the details. What is REALLY sad is the trashing these two kids have taken on the Gophs forum.

Does any objective wrestling fan not see what this has done to the Gopher brand, nationally?

Are you attempting to insinuate that you are an objective wrestling fan when looking at the Gophers? Your hate runs deep and is well documented. We can only pretend to put aside our bias to a certain point. You will think of this whatever u want regardless what anyone else says.

UNI, Vag Tech, Mizzou, Okie are some of the ones mentioned.

I can only imagine the contacts and info you will have a provide us (and of course identify your source each time ) once you are living in Iowa City. Love the info you provide from Tucson, excited about the info you will provide in IC.

Maybe Chief will give us some really good inside info.

Like outing Gobblin as the cute camera girl who films the matches or something...........

Since Eggs likely will not have the mat results to earn the job... he's trying to show he's been attempting to at least clean the program up from an ethics standpoint, imo.
Good luck!

Actually there is very little trashing on the Guillotine. Most are wishing them well and realizing it is a mutually necessary split.

50/50 by my guesstimate. Your little Minnesota cult seems to think Gopher wresting can flourish with in-State talent only.
NEWS FLASH...too many schools raid the State including all the Dakota schools. You need Pennsylvania kids as the Hawks are doing. One out of State guy (Lizak) won't be enough to keep up. That's why Eggs won't cut it. Not a difficult concept to grasp.
