Studies Find No Evidence That Assault Weapon Bans Reduce Homicide Rates

Your statement about compromise is stupid.

There's been ample suggestions offered such as raising the purchase age to 21 among many others.
Yes that is a perfect example, you want to deny 18 to 20 year old people the ability to purchase a semi automatic rifle. (I'm with you here). In exchange for that, you are willing to allow what? Suppressors maybe? That is a compromise.

You're an avowed idiot so I should not engage but I can't resist. Do you not consider what the legal gun owner did this week to 19 children and 2 adults not to be an issue?
I consider it a social and mental issue. But not for the 99% legalized gun owners. The person that did it is the reason to research why. Now go back to the basement.

Sigh. I want far more than that.

Many, if not most, of the mass killers have done so with legally obtained weapons. Not to mention the other deaths and injuries inflicted by guns. Legal gun owners are a BIG part of the issue.

Turn off the propaganda and GFY.

There was really no way it could affect anything because all it did was to change how some rifles looked, not how the functioned. It also did nothing about all any of the guns or magazines that were out in the public's hands already.

If anything, it made them more popular after it expired.

These two rifles shoot exactly the same round, at the same speed at the same rate of fire. Explain to me how this law helped anything.
Sigh.

No. It’s because we have too many guns. It’s simple. We’re gun crazy.

Why should there be a compromise? What do you do with all your guns? When you go out of the house to dinner or a sporting event do you toss your AR in the back in case you need it?

My guns are locked up unless I'm headed for the range. On a very rare occasion, I may carry my .45 auto in my console, if I'm not comfortable with where I'm headed or the events that are going on.

There really doesn't need to be a compromise, I just see so many that are complaining that the gun rights people aren't willing to compromise, when no compromise has been offered. That's been my point.

Link your facts.

Legal gun owners who don't secure their guns that are subsequently used in a crime or suicide is a HUGE problem. You're inability to think critically and examine the issues fully is on full display.

If you are going to dinner that serves alcohol you can’t carry. You can’t carry to sporting events. My guns are locked in a safe at home and in my car when traveling. I conceal and carry into retail stores (grocery, Home Depot, etc).

That's bullshit. How about requiring everyone to secure their guns as you do?

What is the last actual "progressive" bill to actually pass? Hint, it isn't the health insurance bill aka ACA aka Obamacare. Anything that resembled New Deal type bills started trying up during the period in which your kind look at as the period you want to MAGA over.

I dont think you need to be afraid of all 8 or so of the progressives spread across the house and the senate. Maybe read some shit, and look up some words you dont know.
Who's talking about bills? Oh, you are, not me.

Biden's policies and actions from day one of his term prove he's turned the ship over to the progressives and their agenda. That's why we are in the shit we're in right now.

I forgot how lost you are. My condolences.

I cannot believe you aren't aware of this. JFC.

More than 38,000 people have died in the US from the use of firearms during 2019, according to a non-profit organization.

The organization, Gun Violence Archive (GVA), which documents gun violence across the country, reported on Thursday that there were 38,730 deaths from firearms, reports Efe news.

Of that number 14,970 were victims of homicide, murder or accidental shootings, compared to 14,789 in 2018.

The other 23,760 deaths in 2019 were from suicides, the GVA said.

Now STFU. Either way, I'm done with your ignorance.

So are they legal gun owners? Majority of deaths by gun are by non legalized ownership, as much as 80 percent according to some estimates.

I’ve dealt with a fair number of criminals serving life in prison for crimes involving firearms. When reviewing the case files, I’d say the majority of the weapons were acquired in a non traditional manner, meaning they weren’t the original purchaser of the firearm. (Mostly handguns). There are some that actually purchase them legally, but a great number are stolen or come from straw purchases (often girlfriends) and so on.

The scary issue is how quickly criminals resort to using these guns. A lot of deaths are simply people being robbed for weed or petty cash which indicate a lack of respect for human life.

I don’t give a shit about legal gun owners. Republicans are quick to point to themselves about everything. Well I’m doing it the right way, why can’t you be like me?

The gun culture in America is toxic, deadly, and doesn’t give a shit if you are being a safe gun owner. Instead of thinking about yourself, for once think of how can we all make America better when it comes to guns.

Socialist sounding I know, but if you want your kids and grandkids to not worry about getting shot up in school, it will take some major god damn changes in America right now.

Yeah it won’t happen though because there is too many of you god damn idiots around.

That’s your prerogative but I find the need to carry at the grocery store to be silly. This isn’t the OK Corral.
