Maybe if three years meant three years. But in a world where three years means 18 months, it seems pretty light.3 years sounds fine.
Is this implying that cops go in with the intent to kill?Swatting someone should be an immediate attempted murder charge at minimum.
I was thinking assault with a deadly weaponSwatting someone should be an immediate attempted murder charge at minimum.
It's implying that it's a real possibility when someone is unexpectedly swatted. Is this implying that cops go in with the intent to kill?

I think it’s more about them arriving with the ability to kill and the idea in their heads that a violent perpetrator is inside, as opposed to sending the pizza guy to someone’s house. Is this implying that cops go in with the intent to kill?
Right, I get that they have the capability to kill. But a good swat team should be able to go in there and recognize it's not a threat and not kill.I think it’s more about them arriving with the ability to kill and the idea in their heads that a violent perpetrator is inside, as opposed to sending the pizza guy to someone’s house.
I couldn’t stretch that into attempted murder.
It is a possibility, but SWAT doesn't automatically mean cops blow up the place. It's implying that it's a real possibility when someone is unexpectedly swatted.

Then I guess try involuntary manslaughter? But also maybe charge the cops for killing an innocent person. What if you get the not so good SWAT team?,... not everybody is valedictorian.
Agreed, but by the looks of him, it's going to be a rough 3 years
Perhaps this is true, I just think the act is so vile that maximum penalty needs to be applied from others doing the same thing. It's more of reckless endangerment since there isn't the obvious intent for them to be killed but you are certainly creating a situation where they could be killed or harmed very easily.
We will have to agree to disagree on the penalty severance. I don't think it should be a life sentence, but it also should be strict enough to deter anyone else from doing the same. 5 to 10 years wouldn't be unfair imoLook, I'm not saying that SWATTING is okay. I think 3 years is enough time for someone to think about what they've done. They're a convict for life after that.
I think attempted murder seems a little excessive.
He sure does have a purdy mouthAgreed, but by the looks of him, it's going to be a rough 3 years

We call those guys the SWBT team. What if you get the not so good SWAT team?,... not everybody is valedictorian.
