I know this doesn't really need its own thread but it also doesn't quite fit anywhere else. Read this article on Sydney Parrish and learned that she had narrowed down her transfer choices to Indiana and Iowa. I had heard rumors that we had reached out to her but hadn't ever found confirmation she had seriously considered us. It's interesting to think what could have been. We still had magical seasons in 22-23 and 23-24 but her added depth and shooting at the 3/4 positions definitely might have helped in a few losses. Of course, it also would have cut into our own Sydney (Affolter's) development who I absolutely love. So all that said, I wouldn't go back and change anything.

u_p Think this info was out at the time or shortly thereafter. Parrish has extended family on her mom's side from Iowa (Iowa Falls if I remember). Clark and Parrish were friends through basketball, and took at least some of their visits together, including one to Oregon. I've always gotten the sense that maybe something happened along the way to the Clark-Parrish friendship, or perhaps I am reading too much into verb tense, but I remember seeing a quote from Parrish about how she "used to be" really good friends with Clark. Anyway, Parrish is one of several big fish that Iowa failed to land to play with Clark.

edit: There are earlier articles/reports other than this one, but this one was easy to find:

Lucy is a big fish, Sydney Parrish ia medium sized fish at best.
Fair point. Lucy ended up the better player, but Parrish was a McDonald’s AA. Parrish’s injuries also took a toll on her.

I would have worried more about a national championship with Parrish instead of Syd's development.
