Can somebody please tell Lunardi, Palm, etc. that Syracuse doesn't get to play in the Carrier Dome in the Dance?? Their RPI is 85 (ESPN's is slightly off from the official that you can get at NCAA site or CBS Sports. They've lost at home to St. John's and their best road or neutral win is Clemson. GIVE. ME. A. BREAK. Also, Boeheim is possibly even more of a Bastard than Steve Alford, if that's possible. If we're left out and they're in I'll be FURIOUS if we beat Indiana.

Name brand school probably gets them in.
Obnoxious. I tweeted at Palm, Lunardi, ESPN stats, and Elias to see what the lowest ever RPI for an large team. I'm curious also if you add a filter of losing your first conference tourney game

It was Syracuse last year... you know, when they made the Final Four. I believe it was 70-something.

Well stated but I do believe this time they are on the outside looking in, as well they should be, they have some horrible losses to teams from 120-200+.

I'm all for using a better metric tham the RPI. But this year it's still the only official ranking matrix. 70-75 is one thing, 85 and no good road or neutral court wins to boot is anothwr

Hopefully conversations this winter concludes in substantive changes for the committee. A weighted average of KenPom, BPI,Strength of Record, Sagarin, and RPI wouldn't be bad.

Until then, you can't have special rules for "special" teams. Also, Syracuse got in last year because the committee accounted for games Boeheim in which was suspended.

Definitely should be. I think it's 50/50 now with the committee. To me it's easy (OUT) but clearly won't be easy for the committee.

If Clemson wins today they have a better resume than Syracuse IMO.
