Brands was interviewed for the first 20mins. Couple interesting thoughts...Stoll progressing and Laux better suited for 33.

Honestly it's a lil hard to listen too. The main interviewer needs to hand the keys to Tony Hager. Sorry but if the person you booked aka Coach Brands speaks less than the interviewer you have a problem. There was so much to talk about lineup wise and Scott just can't conduct an interview. I wish we would focus on Hawkeye wrestling and not what other schools are doing!!!

That's what I have suspected. Always felt those slotting him for 125 were being optimistic. It is pretty clear Laux has gained a lot of weight. Doesn't sound like the door is shut but it is questionable at best.

TWR is good for wrestling. Casber started it, so he's done good for wrestling. I'd have to agree though, he's a "fluffer". He's there because the popularity of wrestling has garnered advertising dollars, not because of his knowledge of the sport. That shows through when you listen to the show.

Valid points of concern. We'd probably be better served by a middleweight coach anyways. But I wouldn't mind a team full of stranglers.

Here is a write-up on Wags...Aggressive kid, two timer from Bett who does get after it. I don't know about how good he'll be but he's definitely worth a shot. Lost to JRent <ahem> twice in a couple close matches but I am curious to see what a year in the room has done for him.
