The strategy of running out the clock from the opening kickoff has been Kirk's MO for 19 years. It does not work any more. The idea is time of possession, as if that matters when the team can't get a first down. Every team knows his stupid clock mismanagement strategy: run ball up gut. Do it again. Overthrow WR, punt.
This is what Kirk at Annual Big: "How about we make the play clock five minutes long. We could feasibly reduce the game to about 12 plays total. That's the way to win games. And the fans love it. It would give fans plenty of time to take short naps between plays. What? You're turning me down again? Damnit! I only five plays in my playbook. How the hell am I supposed to compete in this league any more if I can't run out the clock?"
