Tariffs on pharmaceuticals

Of all Trumps brain dead tariffs this one will be the worst. The cost of the tariff will fall almost entirely on the consumer. And who is the consumer. The sick and the elderly disproportionately.

When will I know America is great again? Cause the journey might kill us.
If it was easy, every body would do it.

The fact that American politicians put our nation in this position in the first place is the real issue.

Overreliance on another country for items so critical is a total failure.

Don't forget the obese and others whose problems are their own making.

America will be greater when we use less drugs on focus on health.

It is clearly very easy. Breaking stuff is almost always easy. Building stuff is difficult. Repairing things it almost always the most difficult. I guess we're just counting down (very slowly) to the time when we can finally begin to spend decades repairing the damage being done now.

When the going gets tough, the tough get going.

I agree.

Do you think making the problem worse on the backs of the people who need meds is the solution?

Could there have been a better approach, or is it one size fits all and fvck the people?

I'm all for people trying to live healthier lifestyles.

However, do please tell me why people with genuine health issues like Type 1 Diabetes, serious mental health issues, rare diseases, etc. should be penalized. Should we tell them, "Hey, you don't really need those life saving drugs! Have a piece of fruit and go run a few laps, you'll be fine!" 🙄

I understand your viewpoint. It's easy for simple, immature minds to confuse chest-puffing bluster with toughness. It was probably about third grade when I figured this out. That's where Trump and his followers still are emotionally and intellectually.

This approach worked so much better.

Remember those olden days when people who were ignorant and clueless about things like this would keep their mouths shut to avoid being recognized by everyone as ignorant and clueless? Now they’re unabashed braggarts of their own stupidity and they think they’re deserving of respect for their unhinged opinions.

I miss those days.

Absolutely for those. Much of diabetes is preventable and a huge drain on our economy

So what is the answer?

Prevention. Much is absolutely preventable. Huge economic drain asshole

Again: awesome.

So we should immediately put tariffs on pharmaceuticals to incentivize this behavior. Right?

Blood pressure meds. Psych meds. Anti-clot meds. Just need people to maybe pray some more and take more walks.

Go back and read. You are making stuff up.

This is America baby! We fought for the freedom to be fat as **** and nobody but nobody is taking that away!! America!! Love it or leave it baby!!!
I do think the economic cost of how we do medicine should be built in into something. Maybe tax credits for healthy lifestyles.

The cost to our nation for obesity has got to be.....enormous..

What did the politicians do? What position is our nation in? In what way are we over reliant on another country? Which critical items?

If you just want to defer to your cult leader, that works too.

I can see this fat ass walking on hot coals, and then crying because his feet got burnt all to hell. This will happen when he screws with the meds.

Skyrocketing Pharmaceutical Imports to the U.S. Endanger National Security

  • U.S. pharmaceutical imports have skyrocketed in the last ten years, with imports from China, India and Mexico leading the surge.
  • India and China are increasingly the leading U.S. source for generic pharmaceuticals, which account for 90% of all prescriptions written in the U.S.
