Here is a list(not 100% official) based off the conversations originated 3 years ago, along with adding guys like Taylor, Dake, Stieber, etc.

The scoring below was based off of today's scoring with one minor caveat(3 years ago they stopped giving 2 advancement points to 1st round winners designed to offset any pigtail advancement points so some on this list benefited from that, while the most recent additions missed some).

Current maximum scoring is 120(30 per season) without a pigtail match or 132(33 per season) with pigtail matches.

Maybe we can tweak it and archive it here?!?!

1.)Cael-109.5
2.)Ed Banach-106.5
3.)L. Stieber-104.5
4t.)Mark Churella 101
4t.)D. Taylor 101
6.)Pat Smith 100.5
7t.)D. Burley 96.5
7t.)Ed Ruth 96.5
9.)Kyle Dake 96
10t.)McIlravy 94
10t.) Gene Mills 94
10t.)Dieringer 94
13.)Herbert 92
14t.)Lee Kemp 91
14t.)Tom Brands 90
14t.)Ben Askren 90
17.)Jake Rosholt 87

Also, to show you how hard it is to get into the list above: Dean has finished 3rd,1st,1st, ? and would need to pin all 5 opponents(unless he draws a pigtail) this season(and obviously take 1st) to end up with 90.5. Martinez has 47 through 2 Championship seasons. Retherford has 41.5 through 2 seasons, with one of the most dominant NCAA runs of all time.

Nice work. Impressive that Taylor is so high up despite only winning two titles. If he had been a 4x champ, he'd be just 0.5 points behind Cael.

Yeah, Taylor was 18-2 with 11 pins, 2 TF's and 2 MD's! That is 27 extra points scored.

Great listing thanks for compiling. I think posters on the PSU board would also appreciate this.

Hopefully you don't get bashed for not going to 18. :D

Gable had 80 points for three years - '68 - 26 points (3 pins), '69 - 30 points (5 pins), and '70 - 26 points (4 pins). Had he had four years (with a redshirt) he's be our leader IMHO.

Put Zalesky down for 84 and Randy Lewis at 83.5.

Matt McDonough had some pretty good numbers through his first three years.. total of 72 points.

23 (FR) + 20 (SO) + 26 (JR) + 3 (SR)

just out of curiosity, are you including advancement? I would have calculated '70 as 16pts for first, 4 advancement, and 8 bonus for 4 falls, total 28.

Sadly, '70 was the year he lost. So, 12 for 2nd+4 advancement +8 should equal 24. But, he wrestled a pigtail so that should be 1 extra advancement plus 2 for a pin for 27

Regarding Gable, shouldn't his score be higher? 26+30+26 = 82 (not 80).

Also, in 1970 he had 5 falls (not 4) before losing to Owings. I believe his total of 13 falls in ncaa competition is still a record.
