Iowas biggest weakness plays into Drake's biggest sstrength, rebounding, and Iowa wasn't built to exploit Drake's lack of size inside.
Maybe with freshman Owen Freeman vs this years fat sally version and a completely healthy Thelwell.
Drake would double them up on the boards every game and Drake's ability to switch on D would make it difficult on Iowa to do what they want on offense.
Drake would also slow the game down which would make it harder for Iowa to go on offensive runs.
It's a bad matchup for Iowa.
I would say Iowa's biggest weakness was defense. Drake didn't necessarily fill it up to take advantage. Although they were efficient, computers love Iowa when it comes to scoring outputs.
Defensive rebounding primarily comes down to sound defense, so I have trouble separating the two. Iowa did improve on the boards over the season, so there are a couple different versions of that.
Even so, Iowa got out rebounded in a lot of games they won or closely competed in.
And even with fat Owen, there are two different versions of Iowa. And he definitely could have exploited Drake inside.
Other than that, I don't disagree with you that it's not the best matchup for Iowa.
Still, nowhere near 2 out of 10. We will agree to disagree on that.
For perspective, that would be roughly a 10 point dog on a neutral court.
And, as I've said l, Iowa would be favored in games at Carver, so good matchup and all, you would have one of the biggest edges in sports betting history
