TCU is routing Richmond....

Iowa makes 4-5 more FREE THROWS were playing.

Hioefullly Fran has the guys in the gym shooting them right now.

4 players were pretty bad from the FT line this season. Wagner, Baer, Pemsl, and Cook. I think Pemsl and Cook's stroke look fine and actually they were MUCH better later in the season. Maybe they just had to get past those freshmen jitters. Baer, I hate his approach. No dribble, not a good repeatable. He needs an approach that makes him RELAX. Wagner, no hope (just kidding) but I've NEVER seen a player bang so many FT's off the BACK of the rim. 90% of his misses hit the back! A GRADE school coach told me "if you miss, miss short. Ball hits back rim little chance of going in. Miss a little short and ball can crawl over or even go off backboard and in" Baer ALSO frustratingly hits the back rim on most his FT misses. I think that kid is just so "jacked up" All the time out there. My 2 cents on FTs. I'll add I was 8-8 from line in HS state championship game 40 years ago.:)

TCU is a solid, young team. They will be a force here in a few years. That coach will do well there and then leave in a few years..... at least that's my guess.

UCF will give TCU all it can handle. This will be the championship game in my opinion.

Curious as to why you think Georgia Tech isn't a threat. I think they quite possibly had two of the most impressive wins in this tournament. They stomped Indiana at home and won at Ole Miss who had just won at Syracuse. I really like the way that Georgia Tech gets after it defensively. They can struggle on the offensive end but if they get to 70 they're winning. Adjusted Ken Pom defensive rankings has them at 6th in the nation. I love teams that defend because it will likely keep you in almost any game, even on off nights. It's the number one thing that drives me crazy about most of Fran's teams. As much as I like watching offensive abilities, watching a crappy defense makes me equally upset.

UCF really impressed me defensively last night with what they did to Illinois. Just as an FYI, 3 of the 4 teams in the final 4 are top 20 in the defensive rankings (Bakersfield and UCF) and TCU is in the top 60.

If you look at the Sweet 16:

5/16 are in the top 10
3/16 are between 10 and 20
3/16 are between 20 and 30
All teams are in the top 80

If Iowa was anywhere near the top 100 on defense we might more likely be talking about a Sweet 16 opportunity rather than an NIT 2nd round loss..
