I loved the TE screens that they ran this last game. Haven't ever seen us run either one before. I wonder if it's something they've had in the vault or something they threw in last minute because they saw how windy it was going to be? Either way, we got some big conversions out of them, and if Fant hadn't dropped one, he may have scored if he beats the inside backer to the sideline.
One was a bubble screen to Fant that they ran twice if I remember correctly. The first time was on a 3rd and long if I remember right. They ran tight trips to the left with Easley, Hock and Fant lined up in a wing type position. Easley got a great block and Hockenson was hilarious to watch as he drove the safety (I believe?) almost 15 yds. down field! Fant easily got the first down and if he could have slipped the tackle would have walked into the end zone. They ran this screen again and it was there, but Fant dropped it. I was sailing a little, but still a ball that I (and the announcers) thought he could have caught.
They other TE screen was a sprint screen back to Hock. The first time we ran it, it just wasn't timed up right and our linemen didn't get where they needed to be. The second time, worked like a charm and resulted in a fairly big play as Banwart was able to get out in front and throw a big block.
Love seeing these two new plays in our arsenal and hopefully they can dial them up at just the right time in the future. They keep finding more ways to get our TE's the ball.
