I know this is supposed to be Joks team, but it looked like the team was responding to
Pemsl more during the last couple of games. It seemed to me like he is more active in talking to people after both good and bad plays. If that continues I wonder how that changes the team when Cook comes back. They both need to be on the floor because Cooks ceiling is higher, but it looks like Pemsl might be doing more of the things that make the players around him better (passing, talking, setting screens..)

It will be interesting to see how Jok adusts, if he does. Jok is a great shooter, but that's the extent of his offensive arsenal. He tends to be a sticking point for the ball on offense, which puts everyone else in stand watch mode. I know shooters have to shoot etc., but I think Jok will get better shots or be able to get others engaged so the D cannot put so much emphasis on him if he keeps the ball moving, feeds the post a couple times and lets Pemsl work. Pemsl has great court vision and will find guys.

You watch Wisconsin's ball movement and you see how crisp passing keeps the defense off balance and typically leads to somebody getting a wide open look. We have a tendency to revert to early shot clock 3's that lead to the dreaded 5 minute scoring droughts.

so where did those 7 assists against Stetson come from? little credit when credit due? in general you are correct PJ did need to look for his teammates more and that's exactly what he did. That's a very good sign...now wouldn't get carried away & expect 7 every game but now that other weapons have surfaced (Pemsl & Moss)...I think PJ feels more comfortable with his new teammates..

should be even better when Cook returns...

After watching the last game I was thinking to myself, man I would love to play on the same team as Pemsl. He has fun, He really gets into the game, he has passion, he was telling others where to go on defense. At one point while in the 3-2 zone I saw Pemsl and Jok down low, Pemsl was trying to tell Jok to cover the man on the wing. Jok seemed annoyed even though that is where he should be.

One of the big keys this year to winning is that Jok needs to play within himself. He is not going to be able to win games all by himself. If he lets Pemsl and the other freshmen do their own thing, this will take some of the pressure off Jok and actually help his game.
