We have lost several games after having late-in-the-game leads. Say what you want about turnovers or second guess coaching once in awhile, but our biggest problem IS a lack of player leadership! Teams come at us and we have no one who says, "this is a lead we are not going to lose!" We also don't have someone who puts the offense on her shoulders or has a "give me the damn ball" to score. Probably a bend of returnee players who watched Clark take the lead and several freshmen players on the court. Please let Deal ( or a portal addition) play such a role next year... we are closer than the record suggests!

Three players shot 50%- Everyone else including two starters shoot 22%
No one can shoot, no one can drive.
I don't fault anyone for grabbing Lucy. She was a great prospect and had a good start to the year. What ai think you are seeing is how bad the Big East is. UConn will not be tested at all this entire season.

It's beyond time to turn to the freshman and just let them go. Still start Lucy or Syd. Rest in other roles. Let's see what we got going forward.

Just don't agree on Syd on the disappointment. That was simply fans hoping for something thats not there. Like the others she is what she is. Aggressive going after loose balls and boards. She's not skilled, or a good shooter. She did what she always did the last two years, and with CC22 and Kate that made her valuable. What 12 pts and 15 rebounds. What would that be worth last year? Thats her game. The dirty work, but she's not going to go out and create shots or drop a bunch of contested three's.
You are right, I was just hoping for more. She still ended with a double double today. Still stinks to be outscored by my junior high girls that play only 24 minutes.
SA turns the ball over way too often
Bad shooting, turnovers, missed free throws. Can’t do all three game after game. Lucy Olsen is regressing with her mental game. They’ve got to have a players only meeting and get this thing turned around now. Not sure what to think about Jan Jensen so early in her career as a head coach but very concerned.
Sigh, at this moment they all look like epsilons to me. Next they'll all turn into zetas.
This shouldn't be quite the surprise it is. You lose Kate, Gabby and Molly - 3 solid "senior" players. You lose the HC after 25 years and bring in 5 freshmen, And not only do you lose the GOAT, but you have no one that qualifies to be a go-to player at all, so you go out and get Lucy - another new player.
And to top it all off, this team should have Ava Jones, but doesn't.
Some would say, "But they're not even good at the basics!". That might be true, but they call them basics for a reason - they are skills that should already be part of their toolbox. Maybe they shouldn't even be here.
This team is in for a long year. But I think the program will be fine. 🤞

I really think thats because they're all, (Syd, Lucy, Kylie, Hannah) pressing trying to do things outside their skill level that they're not comfortable doing.
