Sorry if this has already been discussed - I thought Juwan should have been ejected with 2 technicals, didn't realize you could get 2 technicals and still coach - weird rule I guess!

I mean, it's not like the announcers didn't mention that there are class A and class B technicals and only class A will get you ejected.
Aaron White had the same thing a few years ago. Received a technical for getting into it with another player, then got a class B for hanging on the rim after a dunk, and was not ejected.

I heard the announcers say it too - didn't know about Aaron - like I said weird rule in my opinion.

The Ref's should have blown it dead with the kicked ball.
Watching it live, I assumed that’s why Howard picked up the ball. It was a clear kick and I think Howard just assumed it was called. Officials did not cost Iowa the game, but that crew was bad with a series of really odd calls and inconsistency. When JBo hit his first 3, he never should have had that shot….Rebraca fell down while possessing the ball - they could have called a foul on Michigan or a travel on Rebraca (it was close), but you rarely just see a no-call in that situation.

Yeah there were a lot of no calls last night. We got hammered every time we took it to the rim and is probably why we missed dunks/layups. That is a different game if it is called correctly.

On the first two missed dunks, yes, I think that’s probably true. I think Keegan’s last one was due to the cramp starting while he was in the air.

I say BS. Officals do cost teams games. Throughout a game there are several missed or erroneously made calls which more often than not even out. However, in a tight game, bad calls at the end of the game have a direct outcome on who wins or loses the game. There were 2 no calls in last nights game that took a minimum of 2 points and as many as 5 points off the board for Iowa. On Keegan's dunk that was missed, the ball was over the cylinder when it was knocked out by the Michigan player. Goal tending... Bohannon was definitely fouled on the last three point attempt. The Michigan player had a hold of his right hand as he began the shot. 3 possible free throws.
Possible 5 point swing. in the last minute definitely has an impact on the game.

Someone smarter than me can confirm this, but I am pretty sure you can't goal tend a dunk. The ball has to be out of your hand to be considered a shot.

IMO, that sequence when the refs swallowed their whistles when Patrick got creamed going for the dunk down the lane and then they turned right around and called an Iowa player for a ticky-tack touch foul on Michigan's score after the run out following that no-call was the determining factor in that game, essentially a five point swing in less than 10 seconds. I just about ran on to the court I was so pissed off at the time. I wanted to double sweep the legs of all three officials and then cross face the MFers until they bled for that BS. Just be consistent you incompetent phucks, that's all I ask really. I won't even go into the numerous no-calls Keegan had to endure when he was under the basket attempting to score. The Wolverines were gifted that one, I doubt Iowa gets similar treatment at Crisler in a few weeks.

/csb one of the worst no-calls I've witnessed first hand was at a JV basketball game. A kid got knocked to the ground while holding the ball, was laying on the ground with the ball while not dribbling, and then one of the 3 players surrounding the player on the ground came over and grabbed the ball and managed to rip it away from the player on the ground and raced to the other end for a layup..........

And the 3 person crew working this game sat there and watched it all unfold having clearly seen what took place, and were not obstructed or distracted in any way, shape, or form.......and let it all happen.

So they let what should have either been a foul or a travel go, and then let a jump ball go, which then led to a free layup for the other team.

Needless to say the coach for that team was not happy.....

So why do I submit this csb?

To illustrate how easy it is for refs to simply get caught up in "watching the game" or not wanting to make a call they are either unsure of or in rarer instances don't feel like interjecting themselves into that particular situation (which is a thing refs do believe it or not)..............
