Jo Lunardi predicted Iowa to lose. The east coast "experts" can never pick any team that is not from the East or South.

It points out once again the lack of respect they have for the big ten.

Go Hawks! Beat the Zags!

I think he was talking about la-crosse since i don't think Iowa has a team in that sport.

Could it be that he was just wrong and it didn't have anything to do with bias or respect?

Nah.

Joe should probably stick to tourney picks.
Yeah Lunardi does a fair job showing which teams will make the tournament. But that's where his "expertise" ends.

Yeah this doesn't make any sense

I think it comes from the wrestling fans. We are the victim because everyone wants to see Iowa lose in wrestling, no matter how sh***y on and off the mat the other team winning is, just as long as Iowa loses. Then they carry that over to other sports.

Oh that and usually the media either overrates Iowa or says we have no business (only mostly exaggerating) competing with our opponents.

Just sayin..............and yes what I'm saying is true, mark.

You need to know a little about the actual game to do what he does. He made a pick. He was wrong. I picked against the Hawks too, didn't think we would do what we did. Who saw a 30 point win coming?

I predicted high teens because Davidson wasn't a physical team, and was outside oriented on offense (vs having a balanced scoring attack). I really have no idea why Lunardi expected a double digit loss for Iowa, but I think he and other bracketologists, and the NCAA committee underseeded B1G teams and Pac 12 teams vs Big 12 and ACC teams.

This guys issue is that he thrives on knowing what the committee will look for in selecting the field of 68 (based mostly on paper). Choosing winners takes more than stats or there would be someone developing something to Sabermetrics for this but it just doesn't work that way.
