That center from Michigan...

Hey Dan, what's up with Higgins getting to ref the FINAL game? What's the conspiracy theory on this? Concerning Edwards, NE could have 2 players IA wanted so as long as IA beat them both, it's all good.

I do not believe that Iowa has offered Edwards so it would be hard to lump him in with Morrow. In fact, if he does get offered, Edwards would be a fall back offer at this point. That said, IMHO he is a quality player. But I think Dale Jones is a proven scorer and rebounder at the JC level, so I think Iowa will be happy in the long run. Jones also fits Iowa's class distribution better. As it is, there will be 6 kids in the freshman class at Iowa this year with Ellingson joining the 5 recruits. Lots of shooting guards to push Jok.

I wish we had 2 more schollys to give.

Edwards looks like an Aaron White clone.

Can anyone explain the Dale Jones delay? We've heard he's a lock for about a month now and still nothing. Tyler CC must have some tough classes that need to be finished up, wow.

I believe it's more of a scheduling thing, especially with the end of the season and the Final Four this past weekend. I would think he will be visiting in the next weekend or two. Just my opinion though.

Fran was at the Final 4 this weekend so it wouldn't have worked. I assume it will happen soon though.

From the 2014-2015 NCAA D1 Manual:
13.02.5.3 Recruiting Period-Men's Basketball. In men's basketball, a recruiting period is a period of time when it is permissible for authorized athletics department staff members to make in-person, off-campus recruiting contacts and evaluations.
13.02.5.4 Quiet Period[/B]. A quiet period is a period of time when it is permissible to make in-person recruiting contacts only on the institution's campus. No in-person, off-campus recruiting contacts or evaluations may be made during the quiet period.
13.02.5.5 Dead Period. A dead period is a period of time when it is not permissible to make in-person recruiting contacts or evaluations on or off the institution's campus or to permit official or unofficial visits by prospective student-athletes to the institution's campus. It remains permissible, however, for an institutional staff member to write or telephone a prospective student-athlete during a dead period.

of the National Letter of Intent [except for (1) below]: Recruiting Period

Evaluation Periods (for certified events only)

Regarding Jones, something will probably start happening toward the end of this week.

He will be making a visit soon and the word is, if he gets along well with the coaches and players, he will commit.

March 25th is a month ago? It was then that Tom wrote an update about Jones, and said he'd just finished up his season. Take out the NCAA Dead Period, where Fran and some of his coaches were probably at the Final Four, and there hasn't been that big a window for a visit. I believe the Spring Signing Period runs from next Tuesday until Mid May, and this month there is an Evaluation Period when coaches are out scouting the 2016 class.

If I had to guess he'll probably visit this weekend, but April is key for more than just the immediate class.

LOL it only feels like a month. I wish we had another scholly for this kid but if what someone earlier said is true, then he had no interest in Iowa anyway. After getting Jones in the fold, it'll be weird not having any schollys left when we're so used to having multiple schollys open.

I'm not sure what post you are talking about, but I recall reading he wanted to play in the B1G. So far I believe Nebraska is his only B1G offer. Even though I think it will end up being moot, I'd think we could get his interest as another B1G offer.
