That northeast Iowa accent

You know, like Chuck Grassley. Kinda thought he sounded like that cuz he is old.
Was talking to a 20-something year-old kid from Cresco, and that kid pronounced words just like Grassley.
You HBOTers from NE Iowa...do you all sound like that, too?

I grew up in central Iowa and my NP is from rural Postville in NE IA. I definitely noticed the accent when I first started dating her. A Minnesota lite, if you will. After living in the area now for over 10 years, I don’t notice it anymore.

It's not Minnesotan, it's not Wisconsinite, it is its own thing.
