That was really an ugly first half. Looked like CJ was the only starter that came ready to play today. He had a great game. I think getting the scoring record out of the way is a good thing for Luka. He can just focus on playing basketball now.

I have heard "analysts" talk about how the Gonzaga players get bored during conference play

that's why Mark Few tries to schedule such a tough nonconference schedule

If you noticed PSU's last 6 or 7 games they have taken ALL the top teams in the BIG down to the wire. Michigan, OSU, everyone. I think this was their biggest loss by margin of their last 6 or 7 losses. Just shows how tough the BIG is from top to bottom....

tough spot today for the Hawks after a big time W in Madison. Games like this one are always tricky, and even more so with a team like PSU. They have not been an easy out for anyone . Their record is deceiving. They play good D and have a ton of speed

Good gravy yes. If PSU could shoot they would blow us out today. They were all over on defense and are really athletic. They deserve credit.

I will take any win by any amount in the Big Ten. It isn't like we are playing in the Pac 12.

I thought the CJ was the savior in the first half. I thought the starters all played decent in the second half. But those clock wasting possessions towards the end were a disaster.

It may have been an ugly win, but Penn State has played well against some really good teams recently. They are not as bad as their record, at least at this stage in the season. They completely sucked early in the year, though.

The stat shown on tv was interesting. PSU lost 5 close games. 3 were by 2 points and one by 1 point. The other was a blowout - 5 points! LOL

Penn State is a freakishly athletic team that shoots the ball well and plays physical, aggressive defense. They just can't close out close games. Yet.

They didn't score a point from the 11:50 mark until two free throws at the 6:17 mark. So they are like most teams, they struggle at times. How many three pointers did Iowa have seemed like they went 1/2 way down only to spin out? We were the better team today...And our free throw shooting still sucks..JMO I pity Michigan this week.

This is the kind of game we lose in the past.

Just thankful CJ was able to go yesterday. He was the key to the W. Its been stated and pondered by most of us, but his injury really sucked for CJ, the team and Hawkeye fans. A healthy CJ, puts probably, two more wins at least, back on the board. Just glad to have him at full strength or close to it. He makes a world of difference.

Penn State plays exactly the type of physical game that we typically don't match up well with,.. Second half defense was excellent,.. Good win.
