Let’s see what Hawkeye fans feel if and a BIG IF Stanley isn’t able to play in the game .. what is your comfort level having Mansell at the head of the helm?

I think it matters very much who's behind center. I would not say Stanley or the highway, however. Nate is our best QB and he should be taking the snaps but if Mansell has to step up, I hope he is ready.

If Nate didn’t play, I’d be as nervous as I was when Jason Manson was named as the starter just prior to the game against Syracuse in 2006. Nate is our leader. Mansell isn’t. Just like Tate was our leader. And Manson wasn’t.

If Stanley is unable to play, it’s a tacit acknowledgment that we threw away a shot at the PSU game, by keeping him in injured and ineffective, for nothing.

He didn't hit his hand until 4th quarter and nothing noticeably changed in his play thereafter.

Of course I would be "comfy" with Mansell leading us to victory. I'd be comfy with anyone leading the Hawks to a win.
