LG JR Render then JR Renolds and now Myer
C JR Daniels then Renders. now Danield
RG RSSR Welsh now Renders
RT RSSR Boettger now Welsh according to the depth chart, but my guess it will be this going into the last half of the BT season
LT RSFR Jackson
LG JR Render
C JR Daniels
RG RSSR Welsh
RT FR Wirfs
get the OL on the same page and the offense will be fine going forward

rather than start another post about Stanley these are my thoughts on his 1st 6 games,
BF has been working him into the playbook slowly because of all the movement on the OL,
this includes Stanley's lack of just taking off and running.

the over throws have a lot to due with timing, running the right routes and a case of dropping the balls, there are a lot of new receiving options being worked in. and people need to remember the coaches were unsure of who the starter was even going to be till the last few days before the 1st game, even Wadley struggeled behind a unstable OL, the bye week lets the OL come together and gets people healed.
to think that Stanley can set the Passing TD record in his 1st year starting as a SO. with FR WR's and a OL that has been schuffled and a new OC still learning as he goes. this is why KOK was rehired to teach BF.

read a interview with BF where he said he is not happy with his play calling to me that is the 1st step in becoming a very good OC by being willing to admit [own] your mistakes. now he has to learn how to cut down on those mistakes as nobody is perfect.

I am interested in seeing how the offense looks after the bye. While I agree the OL has dealt with injuries and hasn't done as well as expected run blocking, I also think Iowa hasn't done themselves any favors by not passing more on 1st Downs, as teams have been pretty much selling out to stop the run on 1st and 2nd Down.

I think the Stanley inconsistency and overthrow issues are largely due to his youth and inexperience. Sure, timing on routes is part of that, but a lot of his overthrows I believe are also just him being too amped up, especially on shorter routes. I think the more he gains confidence the fewer overthrows we are going to see.

That is good that Brian is willing to state publicly that he needs to improve as a play caller, but stating that when your offense has struggled like it has isn't saying much. That isn't meant to be disparaging, it's just kind of an obvious statement on his part. Improvements need to be made all around, and I believe this team will continue to get better.

my point is that BF is openly admitting that part of the problem is on him. to many times the coaches blame the players while never taking any blame. this is what gets the players to buy into what is happening and work harder to correct something that is a team wide problem, coaches, players, trainer and the staff.
