Nice read. Thanks for the work you and for sharing it with us.
You mentioned it in your article, and I think technology has simply changed the world we live in - forever. Facebook, Twitter, and smartphones ... All came to be about 10 years ago and our world would never be the same.
Everyone has a voice. Everyone has access for sharing and gathering. Videos, texting, blogging, apps ... the list goes on. Now we see recruits (mostly football) holding press conferences to make their college of choice more of a "show."
We've created a culture of viral videos, "Likes" on Facebook, 24/7 news, countless apps, websites ... And it all started about 10 years ago with Facebook, Twitter, and smartphones.
Back on topic, I enjoy your reads. Good stuff. I used to be a sports writer back in the day and used to cover Iowa State wrestling when I got my feet wet in sports reporting at the Iowa State Daily. I was there at the time Jim Gibbons announced his retirement and Bobby Douglas came onboard.
This is where my true love of wrestling started. I always appreciated the sport. I never wrestled, but I liked watching it. And having access to Iowa State's practices and interviewing the wrestlers and coaches gave me a new-found appreciation for how hard wrestlers work.
Again, good stuff. Go Hawks!
