Illinois and Nebraska were both Top 20 teams twenty years ago, when lllini went 7-1 in the Big Ten and the Huskers backed into the Rose Bowl BCS title game and finished with back to back losses. No longer the case. Illinois did get a Rose Bowl bid in 2007, but a L in Kinnick Stadium.
Sorry, I don't see Wisconsin RB room that way. RB by committee there, based on everything we hear and what we saw in 2020. And, Iowa will not open 0-2, unless IU has a much improved line of scrimmage, which even Hoosiers know are among their biggest questions in 2021.
Forty years ago, a first year OL coach opened his Iowa career against a ranked opponent. In 2021, #18 Iowa welcomes #17 Indiana, as we welcome fans back and kickoff the 23rd season for the KF era.
Minnesota likely has the top RB carrier in 2021, though not sure Gophers will jump into Top 25. Opener against Ohio State at home in Week 1 will be a true test for them.
Next Saturday, one week from today, College Football kicks off with a Big Ten showdown: Nebraska at Illinois. Neither of these teams are ranked, #11 and #12 records in Big Ten over past three seasons. Make or break for Scott Frost in 2021?
How does the noise help in preparation. For Iowa two programs have been thorns either together or at least one of them, since 2015.
The cream of the Big Ten West may say Iowa has the better B1G record over the past 3 seasons, but Wisconsin or Northwestern find a way at the top of the B1G West standings, except for 2015.
