Really disappointed in the bigs on the boards. A lot of standing around watching. Unless Cook, Uhl, and Wagner pick it up on the boards and contesting shots it will be a very long season IMO.

A couple of reserves are still a bit lame as Kriener (ankle) and Pemsl (unspecified) were not at top form tonight, but when and if all are healthy, Fran is going to give playing minutes to the kids who can play defense and rebound. Baer was the leading rebounder tonight with 7. He has a motor that doesn't stop. The bigs need a little more rest than the smaller, thinner kids and with Jones out until late January, all the bigs are going to play, and you know Fran is going to start to get on them harder now that we start playing the big boys, starting with Virginia. I think Wagner Uhl, Pemsl and Kreiner, and yes--even Cook- are going to know that their playing time is going to be largely determined by their defensive and rebounding effort. Fran's got his starters set, but not their minutes.

I thought Uhl was our best rebounder tonight, let's hope he continues being a top rebounder, he has a unique skill set and the more he is engaged the higher this team's ceiling.

I agree that Cook needs to rebound more. But because he is so far ahead offensively than everyone but Jok his minutes will not be compromised IMO.

I was surprised no one gave Uhl props for his performance vs SH. He was a bucket away from a double/double 8pts/10rb. Maybe that's how he can make more of an impact in the stat sheet.

Rebounding and defense will make this an NIT team or an NCAA team. So far, NIT with no question.
