The Bull

Fill the room with Bulls. Over time, the winning happens. Clearly a top candidate for one of the best to never win a title, but also a top 5 candidate for best human in the room for any team. Best wishes to whatever he and Moriah do next.
He wants to Coach, never heard that out of him before. But wherever he lands and at whatever level he's at someone is getting a great human being in their Wrestling room.

Who is the best hawk to never win it out of this class? Desanto, Marinelli, or Kemerer? You could include Eierman in there too.

It feels like he was the only one of those 4 that didn’t suffer from being scouted as much as any team ever.
He has the combo of skills, strength, and that factor that you just can't teach. He's a multi time champ if his body didn't let him down IMO.

I absolutely love Desanto and Bull, but Kemerer is much more talented IMO. He was the Spencer Lee before we had a Spencer Lee.

Kemerer blew his golden opportunity last year when he was pretty healthy by his standards. Poorly planned or poorly executed take your pick, but you'll never convince me Starocci was better at that point in time. He didn't put Starocci into multiple uncomfortable positions where the outcome heavily favored him.

Kem's fundamental skills + scrambling is what sets him apart from the rest of those mentioned, and that's also one of the factors that makes Spencer Lee great. Turning potentially bad outcomes into points and not stalemates is what sets them apart, and the ability to put someone on their backs from those positions as well, IMO.

This year turned Michael Kemerer into a counter wrestler who couldn't force his will on people from every position. Crying shame.

I thought Iowa should have hired Borschel after his last year, but it didn't happen. I really hope Iowa keeps Kemerer going forward. I just don't have a lot of confidence it will happen. Those 2 have special skills that Iowa needs at upper weights.

Both Kem and Drake depend so much on that lefty swing single that they are a shell of themselves with the bad shoulder.

If I’m Tom Brands I’m doing everything to keep Kemerer around. Whether that’s in the HWC or on staff. His style of wrestling is what Iowa desperately needs more of, and then there’s recruiting. He seems like a great guy and being from PA is obviously an added bonus.

True, I just think Jaydin's top game is not as transferable to other wrestlers as Spencer and Kem's due to Jaydin's unique skill set.
Probably less transferable to a college wrestler, but not to a younger wrestler.

I'm an outsider and would have loved to see Kem win this year. I wouldn't have rooted for Marinelli and PSU didn't even have anyone in the weight class.

Just my perspective.

I believe Kem has or is well on his way to having his MBA. I’d love to have him stick around too, but that’s a big ask to delay his career.

Maybe that's too big an ask. He's given enough to Hawkeye wrestling already.
Kem should focus on Kem now.

Marinellis took illegal $$$. Cass took PEDs. Eierman faked his knee injury yesterday.

Klassy takes by him and some of his buddies.
Once Crabby got the banhammer on this forum, he went "blast mode" anti Hawks.

Too bad, cause he was pretty unbiased at one point.

Now he gets to cheer 100% for a top 17 wrestling program.

Totally get that. He’s well educated and you would want to put that to use. But I’m not saying he needs to delay his career in the corporate world. I’m saying make college coaching his career. Money talks and college coaches make really good money these days. All for Kemerer doing what’s best for him. Whether that’s joining corporate America or staying in the wrestling community. He’s a great Hawkeye and deserves the best.

Somebody mentioned Borschel. He’s doing well in the private sector. Is he even interested in coaching?

Kem may be close to doctorate by now…

I believe Kem injured his shoulder in the semis (or before) last year. I noticed him wincing and keeping his arm by his side late in the semifinal match and he seemed to be protecting it in finals against Starocci. Just my opinion, and I have no inside info, but that's what I observed during last years tourney.

He said during an interview yesterday he injured his shoulder during the fall.

All of these same things have been said about other teams by Iowa fans on this very board.

We can’t pretend to be holier than thou
