The difference between Iowa and Ohio State

Ohio has 4x the population of Iowa and half the number of teams in a P5 conference. The only way Ohio State isn't good every year is if their water supply is tainted or a meteor hits them.

Water supply???

Are you making excuses harbaugh???? ;)

The OP is sitting back laughing and enjoying the responses to his crazy post. At least I hope that's what he was trying to do. If he's serious - WOW

Well, OSU has Ryan Day and Kevin Wilson, both offensive wizards, and Iowa has Kirk and Brian.

It’s a mentality thing more than a talent gap. They push the ball down the field.

The talent gap is staggering. And Iowa has had more than a few very talented players.

Same is true of every other BIG team...There’s OSU, a universe and then the rest fall in line.

GOUNUII

Why Iowa OLine is so poor is more a KF/BF thing. They don't seem to be able OL evaluate recruits
and their offensive scheme doesn't work. OSU is always going to be way ahead in skill positions and defensive players with top of the line measurables...but OLIne....come on man...that was supposed to be KF specialty

Again it can't be that simple, it simply can't. It has to be more scheme , play calling and less talent in the backfield then teams of OSU's caliber. As the announcers pointed out Iowa has had more OL drafted in the NFL then all but four schools under KF. Basically Bama and Iowa at the top with 18 I believe was the number. Most of those guys have had solid NFL careers as well. Multiple Outland Trophy winners and BIG OL of the year over OSU and Michigan. These are the facts. Iowa has had many, many great OL under KF. Now their have been weak links in some lines for various reasons, but overall its not Ol talent that is the problem.

The events over the summer have essentially tied KF's hands. He didn't get fired but was basically castrated. The coaching staff has been walking on eggshells and the results are the product they have on the field. This team doesn't seem to be together and they damn sure are not disciplined. If the inmates are running the asylum, which may very well be the case, I'd like to see Ferentz step down.
