"Do unto others as you'd have them do unto you."

I was engaged in a debate between hotel workers and hotel guests on the Reddit Marriott sub tonight and I invoked the Golden Rule.

Holy shit... any semblance of a civil society is over, folks. At least in the Entitled States of America.

Problem with the golden rule with the service industry is that a lot of their workers have much lower expectations than their customers.

He who pays the band calls the tune, so I say **** the golden rule and treat people as close as possible to how they want to be treated.

I need more context. What was the "do" that you invoked the golden rule on?
Probably something to do with taking the last 2 pounds of bacon from the breakfast buffet with a person behind you waiting for bacon.

If you thought reddit was the place to go for civil and intelligent discourse then I've got some really bad news for you
