Exactly! If Iowa had lost, Curtis would have been on here saying the team is too white.
As soon as our men’s program does anything I’ll end the reality checks. Men’s program is garbage and the closest they’ll get to the Final Four is watching the women’s team.
It’s not garbage, just needs a few things to improve it - a defensive specialist coach that focuses on D when the O isn’t working and a high level recruiter that can get players on campus and close the deal with them.
Sadly, I do not see any of this happening unless McCaffery actually has an epiphany. JMO
Garbage is not making the tourney and having losing seasons year after year.
Fran needs guards that can dish the rock, defend, and create their own shot. Bowen might be that guy in 23/24 and hearing positives about Nimmers. He needs to hit the portal hard for a couple bigs/wings that can board and go to the hole hard.
He does those things and gets a defensive specialist, they have a shot at the second weekend in March. My only fear is he doesn’t do anything at the wing position to take time away from PMac, which he isn’t the answer for this offense. It would be better if he didn’t have a kid on the team.
