I don't know where this ranks under Fran but they were dialed in today. Keegan and JoeT are such difference makers out there and JoeW was great as well. That was a top 5 offensive team on the road that Iowa held to 57 points. Incredibly Iowa has only given up 70 points once in the last 7 games. What a turnaround defensively. If they can maintain this defensive intensity they can do some real damage down the road.

I have to agree. I can’t believe that that this team plays better man to man than the zone.

But it’s really not debatable.

We can’t play man to man all game long (I think we’d get too tired) & I like how he’s been mixing it in these last few games in random spurts of the game.
Who in their right mind would ever think we would be saying Iowa has been playing great man to man D? Is this bazarro world LOL?

So was our defense that good or OSU that bad? I thought their guards were slow and poor shooters today. For a #5 team they sure seemed like a bad team!!!

Oh, definitely, OSU is that bad. You know it COULDN'T be Iowa's defense!

😉

I watched them play Michigan a week or so ago and they looked great. Really good. If you got some time watch some of that game. Michigan and OSU looked like their rankings that day. Wow.

Sometimes I think Fran's postgame comments leave a lot to be desired. Yesterday he was spot on when talking about working the shot clock vs. taking quick shots. I have never been a fan of the quick shots Iowa takes unless Jbo or JW are hot. Even then a miss results in nobody in position to rebound and a run out by the other team.

The Garza or shot clock-beating heave from 3 offense we have seen in bad performances hurts Iowa on both ends. It won't always click like it did yesterday, but Iowa can improve their defense by improving their offense. Move the ball, make teams work on D and take higher % shots with guys in position to rebound. I would rather see a Pmac floater in the lane than a Jbo 30 footer with a guy in his jersey.
