The IOWAY Corn Song!! (You had months to prepare!)

My HS alma mater is performing in the Rose Parade (for the third time)....a BIG stage for a small town Iowa high school band....and when they are on NATIONAL: television, the band strikes up "The Iowa Corn Song".......and then as they walk past the TV cameras, the band is singing...."We're from Ioway, Ioway, that's where the tall corn grows!"
Jeeeebus fellas....I apologize! What a friggin' embarrassment....The phuquing "Iowa Corn Song!" Thank God I just sent them a small check..........
On both NBC and ABC for all the world to see.......just fits into that "Iowa Values" image, I guess.

Other than its a dated song from decades ago, it really "type-casts" Iowa and not in an very flattering way. But then, it's probably just me........but then the song is pretty small town Iowa/rural typical.

I don't know about "Slipknot" but the founding member of The Killers (Dave Keuning) is a PHS alumni...and former member of the Marching Dutch........he might have had something that might have worked.

He was one of the first guitarists to be used in “the band” back in his day…the marching band has a (state/national) rep as being quite innovative in many ways, Being in the band” at home is a BIG deal…they have really elevated themselves over the past 40 years or so…
