The Larry Kudlow and Maria Bartiromo show

They need to stop with this wealth tax proposal, it's not gong to go anywhere, it's just "blue veg" for the commie wing of the Democratic Party.

They just need to fix wealth transfer taxes, since we have a decades long system in place for already collecting those taxes. If you went with the 2000 (end of Clinton administration) exemption amount, indexed for inflation, each person would be able to exempt about $1 mil at death, or $2 mil for husband and wife. They should start with some modest rates at these levels, working their way up to the top rate of above the current $11.7 mil exemption.

I watched that clip.

What exactly is the problem with it?

They are analyzing the situation about the same as everyone else. Biden HAS gone socialist ... full-blown, wild-eyed crazy socialist.

Shutting down drilling for and transportation of oil are huge policy changes. Both are things that Biden promised he would wait to do ... or even consider not doing.

The associated growth that came along with becoming energy self-sufficient has funded our recent economic growth more than anything else. Along with getting rid of some bureaucrats and lightening the regulatory burden and the tax cuts, this stuff represented the foundation of the Trump economic success story.

... and now Biden wants to reverse it all, and even grow the government's participation in health care?

Kudlow was right on the money.

.............................................................

You guys should be careful in what you are wishing for. Biden should quit mocking Trump, He is being suckered into these actions probably by some low-level staffers with degrees in political science and no real-world experience.

You and he are digging a big hole for yourselves.

Criticizing the last guy will only work until it doesn't work. You should be arguing for the benefits of the new "Biden Way." ... instead of touting that you are going to do the opposite of what the last guy did. Argue the policy, not the evil nature of the Republican mind. (It may not look so evil in two years ... and there you will be ... attempting to not look like what the other guy turns out not to be either; him not evil and you not good.)

OK ... an admission: I did see Kudlow somewhere making an incoherent argument, perhaps for the first time ever.

Keep in mind that he is a free-marketer along the lines of Milton Friedman. He has always expressed confidence in the will of the consumer.

I saw him mentioning (from out-of-the-blue) that he does not approve of people buying speculative stocks with their stimulus checks. He seems to have forgotten that once that money lands in someone's checking account, it is theirs to spend (or invest) any way they want. That is the beauty of directly depositing the checks. No one, absolutely no one takes a cut anywhere along the way. The entire $600 is theirs to do with as they please.

Kudlow was making a rare elitist comment. He forgot that there is no wrong way to spend that $600. He was mixing up the recipients of those checks with Wall Street Bond Traders who are sometimes stupid, but with other peoples money.
