Watching the first 2 episodes you really notice just how boring the current NBA is to watch. All 3 pointers and dunks, no defense and horrible traveling. Re-living this era is fun. This week we get to see the Pistons punch people on the court without any fouls called! lol.
Well watching nothing but highlights, many from championship or playoff games vs. " today's " current game should be boring. Zone defense and players changing teams at will makes today's game boring. You don't see the rivalries develop like when the sames guys play together for 4 - 5 year or more.
Exactly! During that period every team had at least a couple stars and the only bad team was the Clippers.
I think it’s less that players are soft and more that officials are calling games as they should be. Fist fights are entertaining as hell, but I’m glad that refs can spend more time reffing and less time dragging limp bodies off the court
I was not only referring to soft in the context of physical play, but some of today’s players need ‘load management’ as an example. Those players practiced hard too.

One of my favorite highlights of jordans is against the knicks. The story ive heard is jordan dunked over somebody and ewing started talkin trash tellin him to try that over him. The highlight is jordan driving baseline, gets cut off retreats then quickly spins back baseline and hammers one over ewing, plus the foul and immediately starts talking trash. Absolutely love watching that

I remember in 1997-98, the Bulls and Jazz were the only two teams to average 100 points per game. Now even the worst teams average over that. Part of that is teams chucking up a huge amount of 3s and even 7 footers making them. Luc Longley and Greg Ostertag weren't shooting any 3s in 1998.
In 97-98 4 teams scored 100 PPG in the NBA....Jazz, Timberwolves, Lakers and Sonics.
And the Jazz shot the least amount of threes per game in the league ... 8.2.

How old are you? The Celtics were thugs first. That was how it was played back then. Watch some old videos, you could throw punches and no fouls would be called. Hack-a Shaq was fine, but Detroit were thugs? They won champions on Defense, Isiah and toughness. Michael was a bitch and he admitted that. Isiah Lord Thomas III was the best PFP player ever. The Pistons had to use violence to win. They had talent but their bulk/cheap shots were what made them hard to play. And the Bulls exposed that. End.of.story.
Isaiah was a punk ass racist. I'll always remember his asinine remarks about Larry Bird wouldn't even be in the league if he was black. I remember him and the Pistons refusing to shake hands with the Bulls. The Pistons had no class. They were thugs and they relished being called the Bad Boys. Laimbeer was a huge whining pussy and he was the dirtiest player in the league. You say that you watched all those games, but I was watching MJ and the Bulls against the Pistons in person for years in the old Chicago Stadium and then at the United Center. Loved the Stadium. I took my son who was 10 years old in 1991 to Ed Debevic's before those games. He was shy and the waitresses practically ate him up. We had been to Bulls Pistons games in the past including playoff games which the Pistons won, but beginning in 1991 the Bulls ruled the Pistons and watching them beat the defending champions the Pistons in the Conference Finals in old Chicago Stadium was really special..
Oh, man...that is a place I haven't thought about in years. I loved going there.
