The Left Has Lost the Plot

He's mostly correct but it wasn't "the left" that failed us. It was the center right, republican-lite, corporate democrats who are as timid as the day is long. The only time you will see a corporate democrat put up a fight is when a progressive is involved. As soon as any actual leftists are defeated, the corporate democrat goes back to playing nice with republicans and keeping their shared donors happy.

You got it brother, the left just wasn't progressive enough.

Funny, meant to be funny.

If you sit there and think "he's spot on" well that's just delusional. Sorry.

The most recent example being Pelosi making sure the old guy with throat cancer was on the House Oversight Committee over AOC. Pelosi can go away anytime and we will all be better off for it.

I accept that critique. But there are only 5-10 people here who even understand what you are saying - and not all that many more in the nation.

I think Rs and Ds alike should be able to agree that the ominous world he projects of robots and wealth concentration is indeed very scary.

Maybe the populism of today, that the left ofc hates, could morph into an economic populism more palatable to the working class of both sides?

That is if we can stop calling each other names for a fortnight.

The right used fake populism to bolster the oligarchy. Populism for regular Americans and oligarchy do not coexist.

Maybe Nancy can share some stock tips and make another video showing off her freezer full of high dollar gourmet ice cream.

Dems are a bunch of snowflakes. Gve up way too easy. Didn't see that 4 years ago. Those guys weren't giving up without a fight. If Joe wasn't so tired he could have revved up a crowd with hang Kamala Harris signs to attack the Capitol. You know damn well he wanted to.

In other words, not actually all that funny.
It gets rather personal for me. As mentioned, 2 of my children lost their birth family from being war refugees. The birth family disintegrated. The father, in bad health from the same condition my daughter has was unable to provide for them and died. The mom with no resources got involved in bad company. Trump's policy on immigration doesn't take into account the human factor. Many families immigrate places for safety.

The Biden admin had a crazy policy the other way and like the Rs of old, they promote war for profit. But yes I can laugh, but it is a guarded laugh.

They need to get rid of the crony capitalist neoliberals. As far as I am concerned they are guilty for the oligarchy as the Republicans.

Yep. The Dems have bought in to and repeat the lie that populism is automatically bad. Today that may seem true. But historically populism has often been a force for good.

I dunno what your definition of populism is but I'm talking about what gave rise to things like Black Chicagoans voting for an eccentric, shall we say ;), candidate like Trump because they felt betrayed by Dems regarding migrants being lifted above them.

My definition? Something a majority of population supports. Polling will back me up on this one.

Legalizing marijuana
Medicare for all
Capping credit card interest rates below levels that would be considered usury

What's your definition?

I think you're being WAY too specific here.

Populism is simply ordinary people supporting or voting for an unconventional candidate or party. I think that's the core of it, at least.

I have a simple question.

If robots make the products, and the workers who used to make the product are out of work . . . who buys the products?
