The "Magnificent Eleven"

On a day that Big Ten history will remember, a band of Iowa basketball players, hereafter known as "The Magnificent Eleven," rode into the Kohl Center in Madison, corralled the Badgers, then sent them scattering as the Hawkeyes extended their winning streak. As they rode off into the Bubble Mountains, led by Peter Jok and Jordan Bohannon, the far-away voice of Denzel Washington was heard to yell, "Hey, You guys stole my show!! And, we only had seven guys."

I don't know that I would call this a group of eleven. Kreiner, Ellingson and Uhl have really struggled recently and unless we have foul trouble, I really believe we are going to be seeing more of an 8 man rotation soon. Doesn't mean we don't need the "next man in" mentality from these guys, but I think you have seen some struggles with the flow recently when the mix and match has been used. I know, you are going to say these guys saved the day against Ind when Fran went 11 deep in the first four minutes, but that was kind of a desparate attempt IMO

Magnificent Eleven has a nice ring. Kreiner and Ellingson are still contributing. Uhl is still a factor

I like the title, but on a given night we likely have 8 or 9. Williams was brilliant a couple of games ago, but last night looked like me out there. Same with others; Uhl is a crap shoot, Brady can seemingly put up 21 or bagels, Kreiner can look like Rodman or, well...Rodman (circa wedding gown).

I think we are now starting to see the advantages of along bench at Iowa. Last nigh Wisconsin was out of gas at the end of both halves and Iowa won. This obviously bodes well going forward for the Hawks!!
