Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers will battle Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes in the sixth iteration of The Match on Wednesday night at the Wynn Golf Club in Las Vegas. With four NFL star quarterbacks set to battle on a different type of grass, the younger generation enter as underdogs, though that hasn't stopped them from clapping back at Brady and Rodgers in the days leading up to the competition.

This will be the first edition of The Match -- a hugely successful franchise to this point -- that doesn't include a professional golfer. Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Brooks Koepka and Bryson DeChambeau have all been prominently involved, as have Peyton Manning, Rodgers and Brady over the past few years. Mahomes and Allen are new to the party, but they'll certainly bring some great viewership to the two-on-two modified alternate shot matchup at 7 p.m. ET

This truncated version of match play -- held over just 12 holes -- has been used before, and it makes for a much snappier and more fun event, especially given there won't be any pros competing. Brady is a world-class trash talker, and as long as he can lure the younger guys into his traps, it should make for great television. Plus, Charles Barkley will be among those on the broadcast, so the golf could feasibly be terrible and the event still be must-see.
