Analyzing Purdue it's very clear they have been a long-time "also ran" (putting it mildly in the Big 10).
Look at the recent Purdue history:
OVERALL:
- One time they have won 8 or more games in the past 14 years (that was last year when they won 9)
-3 times in last 14 years they have even won 7 or more (2011, 2017, 2021)
-As mentioned, Purdue reached their high-water mark in wins of 9 last year. Last time before that they won 9 games was in 2003.
-Purdue's only 10-win season was in 1979 (for those of you counting, that's 43 years ago)
CONFERENCE PLAY:
-Purdue has had a winning record only 3 times since 2004
-Purdue's best record since 2001 was last year when going 6-3 in the league. Before that since 2001, best conference record was 5-3 in 2006
**This is why being only 7-6 vs them in last 13 meetings sucks. Hell we are just 1-4 vs. them in last 5 meetings. This is against a completely mediocre program.
