I just saw a trailer and it included a scene where a dog jumps up to place it's paws on a flag draped coffin. The movie bio says it's about a bomb sniffing dog whose handler is killed. The dog is then adopted by a Marine experiencing difficulties with PTSD and they help each other move on. There's a line in the trailer where it's said that dogs experience PTSD, too.
I could not help but think this scene, and maybe a lot of the movie were inspired by Jon Tumlinson and his dog Hawkeye. The movie bio did not say it was directly inspired by Tumlinson.
