Since it wasn't a "closed fist" it was only a Tech 1. So apparently as long as you have an open hand and slam someone's face into the court you're cool. A tech but you're allowed to stay in the game as long as you slammed someone's head with an open hand. Unbelievable.

Gutless call by the official. If an Iowa player did that I would hope Fran would suspend him for a couple of games at a minimum.

Maybe the B1G will take action? Nahhhhh .......................

The Maryland thugs finally got burned. HAHAHAHAHAHA. But everyone is right about the officials... We've SEEN what has happened to Iowa players for doing virtually nothing. How the stripes let Sulaimon run around the court showing them up the way he did the whole second half is outrageous. I hope this is the beginning of a long Maryland skid, and with the lack of character on that team, I wouldn't be a bit surprised. And it would be more than well deserved. Turtle soup anyone? LOL

Unless I'm wrong, can't the Big Ten review this? I could well accept disciplinary action for the officials and a suspension for Stone.

And, thanks Wisconsin. Much appreciated but no, we still have to beat you.

It does seem like they get away with a lot in Mary Land. I only saw the last 10 min. of the game but saw Sulaimon show up the refs once that should have been a T. Stone should have been tossed for that tackle/head slam combo. Classless act continues out east. If Turgeon doesn't address this he will drop off my like list and down to Crean, Groce territory.

ALSO missed a large part of the game. Missed the earlier ordeal, but definately noticed sulaimon being very expressive of his opinions, and definately wouldn't have disagreed if he got called on it.

Maryland is becoming a very tough team to not dislike.....

I believe that the Conference can review it. That said, I am not holding my breath.

OK now I saw it. I was going to edit my post, but I'd rather respond to yours instead. Yep, this was a completely horrendous situation. The Big Ten needs to react to this. But they won't. Michael wilbon needs to react to this (due to his attacks on Woodbury on PTI last year). But he won't. Dan Dakich needs to react to this, for the same reasons. But he won't.

Why is it only fair game to hammer on a player if it was ruled flagrant on the court? I'd love to see a talking head use this example and go against the grain and call out the officials themselves for being bad at their job. But they won't.

EDIT. Just saw the highlights on sports center. Guess what wasn't even mentioned......

I still don't like Maryland, but I just watched the replay again and it looks like Stone is trying to climb off when #10 for Wisconsin starts to push Stones backside, which causes him to lose is balance and put his hand down on #30

Wrong answer. Stone did exactly what he was intending, not pushed and didn't lose his balance. He tackled the guy, seeing something different is delusional.

Yes, he definitely tackled him, then as he was getting up it may be debatable whether he would have pushed down on #30s head if #10 had not touched him. #10 was reacting to the tackle, not th head shove

In my opinion, Stone was deliberate and should have been ejected. On another note, Calipari got tossed out of the South Carolina game by going after an official, where's the national protest of Cal being a hot head?!!!

Got to love CB this year, so much parity. #11 Oregon, #7 UVA, #2 MD, and others go down. Next question, does IA fall out of top 5 or 10?

It is very clear that it was a deliberate, classless, ridiculous act. Stone is a punk. Even Turgeon recognized it by sitting Stone to begin the second half. It would have been a significant PR coup if he would have sat him the entire second half.

Gard, on the other hand, handled the matter with total composure as he he went onto the business of winning the game. I'm actually becoming pretty impressed with Gard the more I see what he's doing with that club - despite the fact they really are not that talented relative to the rest of the B1G if you look at their roster.

If the Maryland coach saw this and didn't bench him for the rest of the game he is gutless. The big office should look at this and it should be a minimum 2 game suspension. There is a difference between hard fouling someone on their feet and hitting someone's head on the ground that is defenseless.

I lived there 12 years and they were my second favorite team, but you are right they are becoming very easy to dislike. They are very cocky and I am glad Wisconsin kicked their collective ***. Not to mention it helps Iowa;) Go MSU today!

Iowa will not fall out of the Top 10. If we beat Minnesoata we shouldn't fall at all.

I just watched it three times on he BIG network. Stone tackled Brown out of bounds and it was obvious drove his head into the floor. If the ref's didn't see intent then they he were not watching what I just reviewed. Stone should have been tossed.

Nah, gives me gas!! :D

I was shocked Stone wasn't given a Flagrant 2. He tackled the Wisconsin player and road him out of bounds and then slammed the head into the floor.

Should have been a Flagrant 2.

Okay, I found the video, and you are delusional.

You're an idiot. Stone should be suspended but it really doesn't matter because I think they have Minnesota next anyway.

Analysts on BTN showed it several times and discussed it. Sean Morris was adamant that it clearly warranted a flagrant 2. Don't remember the other person on the show, but he agreed. The tackle was already not totally necessary, but would have just been a hard foul. The clearly intentional shoving of Vito Brown's head into the floor should have been a flagrant 2, meeting all the criteria required.

They interviewed Brown after the game, and asked something like "how did he see the incident?" His response was something like "it was kind of hard for me to see anything with my head being shoved into the floor." I have been impressed with Wisconsin's players over the past few years. Bo seemed to recruit quality kids.
