The season before the Murray's was the COVID year, I think there we high anticipations going into the tourney that never was

I think that was actually Frans best team. Not his most talented but that team had toughness to compliment Garza and Weiskamp.
This up coming season will be the Patrick McCaffery show. Then in 2024-2025 season is the beginning of the Darin DeVries era.
With the lack of getting students to show up at home games, Barta retiring, Patrick proclaiming that this is his last year, and Jack saying that Iowa is not on his radar, I can see Fran either hanging it up or finding another college to dig out of the depths of despair. It is not an unreasonable assumption. As for Iowa hiring DeVries, that is up to the new AD, whenever that comes about.

bringing 3 top 100 4*'s and looking at how Fran's previous top 100 4*'s performed/produced. I am excited to see how this team does with 4 top 100 4*'s at the same time do.
6 of this year team of 12 are 4* players. that is the most at any time in the modern time since they started using the star rating for players.
posters bitch because Fran can't recruit top recruits. now they trash the ones he does as they are not good enough and will take a few years before they can play in the MIGHTY BT and all their super studs.
yet for as many super studs and as MIGHTY BT is supposed to be? why has none of them on the NC in the 21st century?
How tall are those posters? ...hopefully they average more than 6'2, that would give us the tallest line up of bitching posters in the Fran era.

I did forget that Mulvey was a grade 80 4* by ESPN. that is why I feel that he will be a big influence on this years team.
now that I have listed Mulvey as to how he was listed. Fran going into this season has these for 4* recruits
3 top 100 4* recruits
4 non top 100 4* recruits
he will have 7 4* recruits out of 12,
now let the bashing of Mulvey begin. which comes easily to the posters on here.

Would not shock me if Fran leaves so he can go watch Jack play college ball. Fran will be 66 when Jack graduates, not many colleges if any will hire a 66 year old basketball coach. He has money, time to retire and watch your youngest in college.

he's implying that if Fran is ready to move on, since JMac has stated that he isn't going to come play for him at Iowa, then he probably won't have many options at age 66 for a new gig.
no where does he state that Fran should move on or hang it up...only that it would make sense if he feels the time is right

That team was his best chance to make a sweet 16. That team hit a skid late season, but they were tough. It's all pipe dreams, but 2019 was an overtime away from a sweet 16. The following year was cancelled by covid. Then the bad covid draw against Oregon and squandering a favorable draw against Richmond and Providence in 2021. It always felt to me if covid never happened Iowa could have righted the ship in tournament play and these last handful of seasons could have been historic. Or not idk.
