And, in this case, hide that fact as long as possible but that isn't the point of this post... How do the police know who to shoot when everyone is shooting?

ARVADA, Colo. — Officials with the First Judicial District Attorney's Office released new footage this week showing the actions of John Hurley, a Good Samaritan who was shot and killed by Arvada police after Hurley fatally shot a suspect who had just gunned down an officer in Olde Town Arvada in June.

That's been one of my complaints about the idea of arming teachers. How do the police responding to a school shooting know which person to take down. And likewise, how do the teachers know who the bad guy with the gun is. They're just as likely going to shoot each other in an adrenaline and fear induced haze than rescue anyone. Unless you've had proper live fire training, most people aren't going to respond well when put into live fire situations.

IMO to use a gun defensively in an effective manner you really need pressure testing. Target practice is not pressure testing. I'm skeptical that the average gun owner maintains their skills in that manner.
