This isn't original with me. Somebody wrote a column that's been circulating. But the basic idea is this:

Your plumbing doesn't work. Sometimes the stools flush, sometimes they don't. Sometimes you get hot water, sometimes you don't. Water backs up in your shower drain. You've endured this for years.

You want it FIXED. You don't care what color the plumber is. You don't care that he's fat and you see his butt crack. You don't care that he is on his fourth wife and spent time in the county slam for DUI. You don't care what he thinks about religion or politics. You don't even care whether or not he's a Hawk fan. You just want the effing plumbing FIXED.

He says he can do it, and since nobody else has been able to, you're desperate enough to give him a chance.

1) Stopping illegal immigration itself is not racist. The rhetoric of Steve King, Donald Trump, etc. is. Which is ironic as both men I named have gained money and power from off the backs of illegal workers.

2) I have no problem with improving background checks or even "profiling" potential immigrants. But being so ham-handed as to simply look at all Muslims rather than those from terrorist hot-beds, is not only bad for our image internationally, it would be completely ineffective. Cruz and Trump know exactly what they are doing. They know their base have a chubby for religious war.

Aside from people not liking her personally, Clinton is less liberal than Obama and has a fair amount of experience. Take out all the hard feelings and conspiracy theories and she's a fairly mainstream candidate. Sanders is the dems version of Ron Paul, people like a lot of what he's saying but know he's never going to make it out of the primary.
