What's funny is Texas had a 26 million dollar roster. Georgia was like 19 million and Tennessee was 14. Not exactly Iowa level, but whatever helps them sleep at night.
I read an article on ESPN that said that the CF power is shifting to the North with the majority of the big money universities (OSU, Michigan, Oregon, Notre Dame, PSU etc....) in the North. And who can argue with Michigan winning the NC last year and the OSU-ND winner this year.
The thing is the SEC used to pay big money under the table now all CF teams have NIL (cough, cough) to battle that. And that's eating at them down South
