We didn't get the job done against Wiscosnin but the stage is set for another very big game this weekend for Iowa. We get our 2nd ranked opponent this year and a chance to give Iowa a real chance at winning the west. We still have to go through Northwestern and Purdue even if we win but a win against PSU gets us over a very big hurdle. If we lose the odds become very slim for Iowa at winning the west.
Wisconsin could go down to Northwestern this coming weekend which with an Iowa win will give Iowa a leg up on Wisconsin. Purdue looks like it could be the most balanced team in the West right now and they are going to be the buzzsaw that Iowa and Wisconsin need to watch out for. Brohm might be the best coach in the West.
The game against PSU is the type of game KF needs to win if he wants to prove Iowa is a serious contender in the B1G and not just a major road bump for other real contenders. Well and he needs to be able to beat the Northwesterns and Purdue's when it matters most. The way Wisconsin looks right now I truly believe Iowa will win the West if they can win out. I can see Wisconsin picking up 1 or 2 more losses this year. I can also see Iowa losing 1 or 2 more though as well just based off our history in big games.
